Will the Baha 5 Sound Processor be beneficial to me?

QuestionI had the BP100 and after two years it stopped working. I wasn’t that happy with it because I thought I would be able to hear better. What has the feedback been on the new Baha 5 Sound Processor?  I am trying to justify the cost. Also does the magnet work good as I also have a lot of irritation around my abutment.   Thank you. // Kristi

Answer: Dear Kristi,

Sorry to hear that the BP100 Sound Processor has not lived up to your expectations.

Since the launch, the Baha 5 Sound Processor has proven very successful indeed. The small size, sound quality and wireless audio streaming directly to and from a range of accessories and from your iPhone, have all been very appreciated by people upgrading from the BP100. There are numerous testimonials available from patients, such as this one, on the benefits they have perceived with this new sound processor, and we would absolutely recommend that you evaluate how it works for you.

Regarding the Baha Attract System, results have been good and patients that use it are very satisfied, especially with the skin cosmetics outcomes, however, you will need to let your hearing care professional evaluate if your hearing loss is suitable for this system.

      • Translation in English:

I am Brazilian and my son uses the BP100. They will put the Baha 5 on the other side, I’m not sure how the hearing will be using two different processors. The therapist said that we will only know when he uses them. Is there anyone who has bilateral but with different processors?

We have many cases of bilateral patients with different processors on each side. This is not a problem as long as the therapist does the balancing correctly. Thus, your child will benefit from bilateral hearing and also of the new processor improvements.
