Subject: Baha Attract vs older style
Question: I’m very interested in the Baha Attract for aesthetic reasons, but I’m concerned that it might be less effective than the external clip-on style.  Is the technology the same in both?  Is the quality of hearing the same? // Pat

Answer: Hi Pat. Good question! Certainly, the Baha Attract and Baha Connect Systems offer a choice of which configuration you would prefer to use.

The systems use exactly the same osseointegrated implant and sound processor options. The difference is the method of connection, either magnetic or a direct connection through the skin. While the direct connection is more efficient in terms of sound transfer, for the majority of people the magnetic connection will be suitable. The transmission of sound in the Baha Attract System has been optimised through the use of innovative magnet design and the use of a single implant. Your hearing care professional will examine your hearing loss in more detail to determine which system may be suitable for you

The actual sound processor you may use is the same for both systems, so you will get the same sound quality and advanced technology for either system. The Baha 4 Sound Processor offers further advances with the wireless accessories and the smart classifier that automatically adjusts to your different listening environments.

The very good news is that  you test the system before deciding on surgery with a Softband or Headband, so you can experience listening through bone conduction.
